Carpal Tunnel Release

This operation aims at dividing the tight transverse carpal ligament
The operation can either be carried out endoscopically or as an open carpal tunnel release.
The transverse carpal ligament is then displayed and divided.
The operation is carried out under local or general anaesthesia.

As with all operations complications can not be completely ruled out; in the individual case they are not always predictable. The possible complications will be discussed in a personal conversation.

Normally the operation results in a complete recovery.
If the course of the disease has been over a longer term, residual complaints can remain.

Clinic: ambulant or 2 days (24 hours)

Physical rest: 6 weeks
