Plastic surgeon

The plastic surgeon is a recognized specialist, with a further period of six years and consequent tests.  Specialist medical training in plastic surgery is the completion of the course ahead of human medicine.  In the training phase, a large number of operations must be performed independently or under the guidance of an experienced plastic surgeon.

After put this practical experience and theoretical training, the physician, the specialist examination at the respective State Medical Association.  Only then will the doctor receives officially the title of "Specialist in Plastic - Aesthetic - and Reconstructive Surgery.

This specialist designation gives the patient the assurance that the physician was trained for the diseases in the field of plastic surgery.

It should be noted that only the title of "specialist in plastic surgery is protected.  Other terms like "cosmetic surgeon", "cosmetic surgeon" or "aesthetic surgeon" are not a protected title and can be made from any doctor, but say nothing about their training or retraining.

To ensure an outstanding qualifications of its members on a broad basis, the "Austrian Society for Plastic - Cosmetic - and Reconstructive Surgery, a training program designed, which has for its members mandatory character. Participation in these internal developments will be in both the training time for" Specialist in plastic surgery required, "as well for already completed your specialist assessment.
